Derek Juno

Accomplished Social Entrepreneur, Founder of Elysium Retreat, Elite Triathlete

Derek Juno is an accomplished social entrepreneur and speaker who has spoken all across North America. Highlights include speaking to a crowd of 18,000 in Seattle, Washington and the Canada 150 Youth Forum on Human Rights.

Derek is the VP of Business Development for the Social Enterprise, Dollar Donation Club (DDC). DDC is based on the idea that we should be spending less time begging billionaires to give more and instead create the world’s first collective billionaire super-philanthropist. DDC gives individuals the opportunity to join a philanthropy subscription service and donate $1 a month. It’s not about how much we give, it’s about how many of us unify to give a little, together. DDC’s goal is to get 1 billion people to donate $1 per month to solve humanity’s biggest challenges.

Before Derek joined the DDC team he was the Executive Vice President of Mealshare. He helped grow and scale Mealshare from a small start-up to a national organization, that has over 1,200 restaurant partners and has provided over 5 million meals to youth in need. Mealshare offers a buy-one, give-one hunger relief program for restaurants and is on a mission to end youth hunger in our lifetime. In 2019, Mealshare’s Co-Founders were awarded the Governor General’s Meritorious Service Cross. This extremely prestigious award is given to individuals for their “exceptional deeds that bring honour to our country”.

He is also the Founder of Elysium Retreat, a two-day personal development retreat package that individuals can purchase in order to help formally evaluate themselves and think holistically and deliberately about their life design.

Derek is also an elite triathlete, Ironman, and represented Canada at the 2017 Ironman 70.3 World Championships. He is extremely passionate about life design and thoroughly enjoys inspiring others to make their lives, community, and the world a better place.
