Brian Keating: Naturalist, Speaker, Author, Radio & TV Host
Brian Keating is more than a speaker; he’s an experience. With an infectious blend of humour and passion, he seamlessly combines entertainment with education, leaving audiences enthralled and enlightened after every presentation.

A naturalist, mountaineer, pilot, and scuba diver, Brian’s adventures span over three decades, exploring wildlife areas globally. Brian is a weekly guest on Calgary’s CBC Radio, a sought-after international speaker averaging 50 events annually, and the author of five children’s books celebrating nature.

Brian’s journey in environmental advocacy began at the Calgary Zoo, where he played a pivotal role in raising funds for global environmental projects. Currently he is the Zoo’s Honorary Conservation Advisor. As the co-director of Great Big Nature, and a former Adjunct Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the U of C, Brian’s commitment to educating and inspiring spans across diverse audiences, from business executives and professionals to students and nature enthusiasts worldwide.

Brian’s accolades, including “Canadian Hero of the Year,” Honorary Doctorates, and the “Stan Hodgkiss Canadian Outdoors person of the Year Award,” recognize his exceptional contributions to global environmental efforts. Additionally, he is a proud “Fellow” of The Royal Canadian Geographical Society, recipient of the “Louie Kamookak Medal” for making Canada better known worldwide, and the “Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal” for his service to the natural world.

Beyond recognition, Brian’s impact is tangible. The “Brian Keating Conservation Endowment Fund,” established in 2017, has amassed six million dollars to support global conservation outreach efforts.
